At the core of our program is compassion for our fellow Galwegians who may be struggling at Christmas time; for the children who would otherwise go without; for the parents who want so much to be able to provide a gift; for those who may feel isolated or lonely.

We work with multiple charity partners so that we can have an impact across a broad range of services, with input from our charity partners so that we can most effectively help. We collaborate with wonderful Host Businesses, ranging from tech companies to schools, to make the program happen.

We are fully volunteer run and every cent goes into running the program. We run the program with integrity and accountability and want all those we work with to be able to trust that we never stray from our aim of spreading some Christmas cheer.

This is a community driven project, with gift-givers from our local community helping those less fortunate in their community. It has grown over ten years, spread by word of mouth and the goodwill of neighbours and coworkers.

GGT believes that we all benefit from the contributions of people with diverse personal characteristics.

We want the collection to be a positive experience for everyone involved, from our Host Businesses to our wonderful volunteers. Our hard working elves keep their festive spirit and good cheer throughout the collection and make sure they don’t get their tinsel in a tangle.
