COPE Galway
The Galway Giving Tree partners with a number of COPE Galways services. These include: individuals experiencing homelessness who are resident at Fairgreen Hostel, Osterley Lodge or the Cold Weather Response and Day Centre; Families who are homeless and living in the Family Hub or local emergency accommodation; those receiving Tenancy Support Services and also women and children who have experienced domestic abuse and are receiving support or refuge at Modh Eile House.
Galway Simon Community
Galway Simon Community provide Homelessness Prevention, Housing & Support Services to people at risk of, or experiencing homelessness here in the West. Each year, hundreds of gifts are distributed across their services which include a Countywide Community Outreach Support Service; a dedicated Youth Service; specialist Women & Family Service; a drop-in Resource Centre in East County Galway; a wide breadth of Supported and Community Based Housing Services; as well as a city based Emergency Service.
Eglinton Asylum Seekers Accommodation Centre
Over 200 asylum seekers, including over 80 children, live in Galway’s two direct provision centres at Eglinton Hotel Salthill and Great Western House, Eyre Square.
